TEC Small Business
Having been a business owner myself, I can fully appreciate the burdens that come with the role. Not only can it feel lonely at the top, but it can be hard to find trustworthy and agenda-free guidance when you need it.
TEC (The Executive Committee) changes that. As a member you become part of a tight-knit group of leaders who are dedicated to each other’s mutual success. Period. And as part of the Vistage leadership network, you join a community of over 40,000 leaders around world. Together we’re committed to helping high-performing leaders be the best versions of themselves—for their companies, families and communities.
As a TEC Chair, I bring together curious, passionate business owners and leaders who want fresh insights and a place to think out loud without judgement. I facilitate regular, confidential peer advisory sessions where we challenge assumptions, listen to world-class speakers, trade wisdom, and get to the heart of what actually matters in business and personal growth. All while having fun and sharing some laughs.
I also coach each member one-to-one — asking the tough questions and helping them navigate the complexities of business and life in general. My role is part strategist, part sounding board, part accountability partner & part cheerleader.

Blundstones to Boardrooms
Where Grit Meets Growth
We do things a bit differently here on Vancouver Island. Companies aren’t just built around boardroom tables. We live here because we love to work where we play, and play where we work.
Business discussions often happen on beach walks, marina docks or forest trails. Fresh air is part of the business plan, and we’re inspired by nature to bring more of who we are to what we do.
Blundstones and Birkenstocks are accepted as business-casual attire. But don’t mistake the footwear for a lack of ambition — Islanders are grounded, values-driven, and serious about building meaningful, sustainable companies.
We work, live, and play on the unceded territories of Indigenous peoples. Respect, relationship-building, and an understanding of place are not “nice to have” — they’re foundational to how we show up as leaders.
Island business owners value connection over competition. It’s a culture where collaboration beats ego, where your reputation travels faster than your marketing, and where you succeed by being a good community member first.
Life may be more casual — but the stakes are just as real. The vibe may be relaxed, but the pressures, decisions, and challenges of running a business are every bit as complex as they are in any major city. Island leaders carry a lot, often quietly.
Members of the Vancouver Island TEC group are:
Curious, growth-minded leaders who are tired of leading alone
Willing and able to invest in their business and personal development
Interested in exploring alternatives to traditional coaching programs
Ready to be surrounded by a community of strong leaders—to gain insight and wisdom, and share challenges & celebrations
$500K to $10M Sales Revenue

Myths About Peer Groups
🟠
I’m too busy running my business.
TEC Members report that investing energy on their business (instead of in their business) with their peer group makes them more powerful and effective as business leaders. They find that they accomplish more in less time and with more clarity.
🟠
I don’t have the money for TEC.
Joining TEC is a way to invest in your individual growth as a leader. Instead of looking at your finances as a whole, take a look at your budget for professional development. TEC members don’t join to throw their money away, they join for the ROI.
🟠
I don’t have time in my schedule right now.
We all have the same amount of hours in a week. The only difference is how we choose to spend our time. There will always be another project or commitment that needs to get done. You have to make time to invest in your own business development if it is a priority. TEC members didn’t join because they have time to spare, they joined because they are very conscious of how they invest their time. Within 45-90 days of joining TEC, members report allocating their time more effectively to the things that matter most in their lives.
